| 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee, to John at the Jordan, in order to be baptized by him. 14 But John refused him, saying, “I ought to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?” 15 And responding, Jesus said to him: “Permit this for now. For in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all justice.” Then he allowed him. 16 And Jesus, having been baptized, ascended from the water immediately, and behold, the heavens were opened to him. And he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and alighting on him. 17 And behold, there was a voice from heaven, saying: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” |
| 9 And it happened that, in those days, Jesus arrived from Nazareth of Galilee. And he was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And immediately, upon ascending from the water, he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit, like a dove, descending, and remaining with him. 11 And there was a voice from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.” |
| 21 Now it happened that, when all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized; and as he was praying, heaven was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit, in a corporal appearance like a dove, descended upon him. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son. In you, I am well pleased.” |
| 29 On the next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him, and so he said: “Behold, the Lamb of God. Behold, he who takes away the sin of the world. 30 This is the one about whom I said, ‘After me arrives a man, who has been placed ahead of me, because he existed before me.’ 31 And I did not know him. Yet it is for this reason that I come baptizing with water: so that he may be made manifest in Israel.” 32 And John offered testimony, saying: “For I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove; and he remained upon him. 33 And I did not know him. But he who sent me to baptize with water said to me: ‘He over whom you will see the Spirit descending and remaining upon him, this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 And I saw, and I gave testimony: that this one is the Son of God.” |
